Integral Sports Management announces appointment of Chairman Peter Varney

Integral Sports Management (ISM) has appointed ex Charlton Athletic FC Chief Executive Peter Varney as it’s Chairman. The announcement comes in addition to the news that Mark Arber has joined the new agency as it’s Head of Football Operations.

Best known for his time at Charlton Athletic FC, Varney spent eight seasons from 1997 to 2008 in the Premier League. He played a pivotal role in developing The Valley into the 27,000 capacity modern all-seater stadium it is today, and oversaw the formation of the Charlton Athletic Community Trust which became one of the biggest football-related charities in the UK.

Of his appointment Peter Varney, Chairman Integral Sports Management said: “I’m delighted to be joining the ISM team at such an exciting time. The business has ambitious plans to bring a new type of player representation into the sporting world, starting with football. I have no doubt that with my years of experience within clubs and working alongside players, I’m in a solid position to help steer the company and utilise the network we have created.

“There’s no better time for us to be entering the football world, as I have no doubt that the future of the sport is going to look very different in the coming months. With so many challenges facing players and clubs, there’s a need for more strategic thinking and guidance from agents. At ISM we’ve built a team that has respect, integrity and trust at it’s heart. And we intend to reflect this in how we do business.”
